Several recent changes in the carbon fiber industry:
1) Carbon fiber is expected to enter the "13th Five-Year Plan" and be strongly supported by the government; 2) Domestically realize T800-class products in 1,000-ton production, break the monopoly pattern of foreign enterprises; 3) Reduce costs and promote industrialization; 4) Downstream demand Constantly strengthening, the industry is breaking out soon; 5) The relevant enterprises are accelerating their layout and competing for the highlands.
Carbon fiber - "black gold" with perfect performance:
Carbon fiber is an excellent new material that combines electricity collection, thermal and mechanical properties. It has many advantages such as high strength, low density, corrosion resistance and strong electrical conductivity. The PAN base is the mainstream product in the current market, accounting for more than 90% of the total. The demand is mainly concentrated in the three major markets of aerospace, industrial use and sports and leisure. The carbon fiber preparation process is strict and the process is complicated. It is necessary to carry out processes such as pre-oxidation, carbonization and graphitization in a high-temperature environment, and the requirements for related equipment are extremely high. At present, the major equipment manufacturers are basically from abroad, and due to foreign restrictions on domestic exports of carbon fiber equipment, many domestic enterprises began to design and develop related equipment to break the long-term monopoly pattern abroad.
Industry concentration is high, and domestic enterprises' production capacity is accelerated:
Japan is a major global manufacturer of carbon fiber, representing Toray, Toho and Mitsubishi. Major manufacturers in other regions include Zoltek, Hexcel, and SGL in Germany, and FPC in Taiwan. At present, there are nearly 40 domestic and large carbon fiber production enterprises, mainly concentrated in Shandong, Jiangsu and Jilin. China's carbon fiber production capacity increased from 6,445 tons in 2010 to 15,000 tons, an increase of 2 times, an average annual increase of 23.5%; production increased from 1,500 tons to 3,700 tons, an increase of 2.5 times, an average annual increase of 25.3%. At present, domestic T300 products have reached 10,000 tons, T700 products have reached 2000~3000 tons, and T800 products have reached 1,000 tons. With the continuous breakthrough of technology and the continuous reduction of cost, high-end carbon fiber products have become the future development trend.
The demand for downstream applications is increasing, and the industry is breaking out:
Automotive, aerospace and wind power are expected to become the first three areas in which future demand will break out. With the increasing demand for lightweight vehicles, internationally renowned manufacturers such as BMW, Audi and Toyota have successively launched a new generation of carbon fiber manufacturing models, and continue to deepen cooperation with carbon fiber manufacturers. It is expected that by 2020, the demand for carbon fiber in automobiles will be 2013. The 2,600 tons in the year soared to 23,000 tons. In the aviation field, Airbus and Boeing's various models use carbon fiber composite materials, accounting for 48% of the total market. The domestic large aircraft C919 currently has more than 400 orders, and will use about 12% of carbon fiber composite materials to further promote the application of carbon fiber in the aviation field. Fan units in the wind power sector are moving toward large-scale development, and wind turbine blades will become the main place for future applications of carbon fiber.
